Interesting fact

The Kyzikos Stater was used as a form of currency in ancient Greece and has been found in archaeological excavations in the region of Mysia, which is now modern-day Turkey. The coin features an image of a lion's head on one side and an inscription on the other, which translates to "Kyzikos" in ancient Greek. The use of electrum, a naturally occurring alloy of gold and silver, in the coin's production was a common practice in ancient Greece, as it was valued for its durability and rarity.
