Interesting fact
The Kyzikos Stater was used as a form of currency in ancient Greece and has been found in archaeological excavations in the region of Mysia, which is now modern-day Turkey. The coin features an image of a lion's head on one side and an inscription on the other, which reads "KYZIKOS" in ancient Greek letters. The use of electrum, a naturally occurring alloy of gold and silver, was a common practice in ancient coinage, as it was valued for its durability and resistance to wear and tear.
