Interesting fact

The Mallos Stater is considered one of the earliest coins to feature an image of a deity. The obverse side of the coin depicts a bearded Apollo, while the reverse side shows a lion's head and the mint name "MALLOS" in ancient Greek letters. This coin was issued during the reign of King Artemidorus, who ruled over the ancient city of Mallos in Cilicia (modern-day Turkey) in the 5th century BC.
