Interesting fact
The Corinthian Stater was one of the first coins to feature a mythological creature, the Pegasus, on its obverse (front side). The Pegasus was a symbol of the city of Corinth and represented the city's connection to the goddess Athena, who was often depicted with a Pegasus.
