Interesting fact
The Corinthian Stater was one of the first coins to feature a depiction of a human face. The obverse side of the coin features a portrait of a bearded man, believed to be the god Poseidon, who was revered as the protector of the city of Corinth. This innovative design was a departure from the traditional use of animal symbols and abstract patterns on coins, and marked a significant milestone in the development of coinage.
