Interesting fact
The Ambracia Stater was minted during the reign of King Pyrrhus III, who was known for his military campaigns against the Roman Republic. Despite being made of silver, the coin was not widely accepted outside of Ambracia and surrounding regions, due to its relatively low weight and irregular minting standards. This limited its use as a medium of exchange, but it remains a valuable collector's item for numismatists today.
