Interesting fact
The obverse (front) side of the coin features a mythical creature called a Pegasus, which is a winged horse. This image was a symbol of Corinth's wealth and power, as well as its connection to the sea and trade. The Pegasus on the Stater coin is depicted in a galloping pose, with its wings spread wide, giving the impression of movement and dynamism. This design was quite innovative for its time and has become an iconic representation of ancient Greek coinage.
