Interesting fact

The Echinos Stater coin features a unique combination of symbols and imagery on its obverse (front) side. At the center of the coin is a depiction of the Greek goddess Athena, wearing a helmet and carrying a shield and spear. Surrounding Athena are two dolphins, swimming in opposite directions. This design is significant because it represents the maritime culture and trading history of the ancient city of Echinos, which was located on the coast of Akarnania in western Greece. The use of dolphins as a symbol of maritime trade and commerce was common in ancient Greek cities, and the Echinos Stater is a prime example of this motif.
