These coins were originally attributed to Vetulonia, but have been re-attributed to Luca based on where the majority of the coins were found.Interesting fact
The Hippocamp on the coin is a mythical creature that is half horse, half fish. It was a symbol of the Etruscan god of the sea, and its presence on the coin suggests that the Etrurians of Luca had a strong maritime culture and economy.
