Comment

There has been much controversy on dating Populonian coins, and as such, the date ranges my vary per source.

The second Male head series was struck using Populonia's fourth silver standard, which is equal to the third silver standard except with the weights of all denomination being halved.

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about this coin is that it features a portrait of a young man with a distinctive hairstyle, which is believed to be a representation of the Etruscan god of the underworld, Charun. This coin was minted during a time of significant cultural and political exchange between the Etruscans and the Romans, and it showcases the artistic and technological advancements of the Etruscan civilization.
