Comment

The coin illustrated is from Plate 12 of the “Catalogue of Greek and Roman coins in gold, silver, bronze of very first conservation formed by a recently deceased enthusiast,” Adolph Hess sale 18 December 1933, Luzern.

The reverse lettering is PORT (as on the example coin) not POR.

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about this coin is that it features an image of Tiber and Neptune on the reverse side, which symbolizes the unity of the Roman Empire and its control over the seas.
