The Sestertius coin , which was issued during the reign of Emperor Hadrian (130-133 AD), features an image of the Roman goddess Diana on the reverse side. Diana was an important deity in ancient Roman religion and was often associated with the natural world, hunting, and childbirth. The inclusion of her image on the coin may have been intended to promote the idea of Roman dominance over the natural world and the provinces, including Dacia, which was a recent conquest of the Roman Empire at the time.
