Interesting fact
The Semis coin was used during the Roman Republic, a time when Rome was still a republic and not yet an empire. The coin features the image of a Roman warship, known as a trireme, on one side, and the letters "ROMA" on the other. This coin was used as a means of payment for everyday transactions and was valued at half of a Roman denarius, which was the standard unit of currency at the time. Despite being made of bronze, the Semis coin was still considered a valuable form of currency and played an important role in the economy of ancient Rome.
