Interesting fact
The Schilling 1639-1641 from City of Zürich was made of Billon, which is an alloy of silver and copper. This coin was unique in that it was one of the first coins to use this alloy, which was a departure from the traditional use of pure silver or gold in coinage. The use of Billon in coins became more widespread in the following centuries and is still used today in some coins.
