Ruler: Mahindar SinghInteresting fact
One interesting fact about this coin is that it was minted during a time of great change and turmoil in India. The Princely state of Patiala, where the coin was minted, was one of the many princely states that existed in India during the British colonial era. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, there was a growing movement for Indian independence, and many princely states were struggling to maintain their power and autonomy in the face of British colonial rule. Despite these challenges, the Princely state of Patiala was able to maintain its independence and continue minting its own coins, including the Rupee coin featuring Mahindar Singh, until India gained independence in 1947.
