Interesting fact
The Alexey Mikhailovich Rouble, issued in 1654 during the Russian Empire, was the first silver coin to feature the image of a Russian tsar. The coin features a portrait of Tsar Alexey Mikhailovich on one side and the Russian coat of arms on the other. This was a significant departure from previous Russian coins, which had traditionally featured religious imagery. The introduction of the tsar's image on the coin was a symbol of the growing power and influence of the Russian monarchy.
