Comment

Calicó 3577 (this coin, citing a private collection). Göbl 685b, pl. 34 (only one specimen, this coin, Trau 2942). Cohen 879 (100 Fr., citing the dealer Hoffmann, probably the piece later acquired by Trau, so our specimen). Very rare, possibly unique.
This coin has one of the most famous pedigrees in numismatics being ex Trau.

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about the Quinarius Aureus - Gallienus (PROVIDEN AVG; Providentia) coin is that it features an image of the Roman goddess Providentia on the reverse side, which symbolizes the Roman Empire's prosperity and good fortune during the reign of Emperor Gallienus.
