Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the Quattrino - Francis I / II ND (1387-1405) coin from the Lordship of Padova is that it was made of Billon, which is an alloy of silver and copper. This was a common practice during that time period, as pure silver was too soft to be used for coins and Billon was a more durable alternative. Despite being made of a base metal, the Quattrino still held significant value and was widely used in trade and commerce.
