Interesting fact
The Półtorak / 3 Polker coin from the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, minted in 1662 during the reign of Jan II Kazimierz Waza, was made of silver, but it was also one of the first coins in Europe to feature a portrait of a king on one side and an eagle on the other. This design was a departure from the traditional coat of arms or other symbols that were commonly used on coins at the time, and it paved the way for future coins to feature portraits of rulers.
