Comment

Even if the studies carried out on the gossip of the Turons leave much to be desired, the authors of the New Atlas have taken up only two copies; that of class I, typical with its small hairy head and the crosslet on the reverse, and that of class II to which all the other potins of the Turones are assimilated.

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about this coin is that the diabolic head depicted on it is believed to be a representation of the Gallic god of the underworld, Dis Pater, who was associated with wealth and fertility. This coin was likely used in religious rituals and ceremonies, and the image of Dis Pater was meant to convey the idea of prosperity and abundance.
