Comment
These thin coins are found in north Karnataka, and are ascribed to the 'Period of Confusion' from 250-400 AD that followed the rule of the Chutus. They depict a standing bull - a Shaivite symbol - with a legend (often blundered) that reads Rajno Vishnurudra Budhananda, a ruler known only from these coins.Interesting fact
The Kadamba Kingdom, which issued the Potin Unit - Kadambas of Banavasi (250-400) coin, was known for its unique blend of Hindu and Jain architectural styles, as seen in the Kadamba-era temples and monuments that still stand today in the Deccan Plateau region of India.
