Interesting fact
The Pattern Polushka - Ekaterina II (Novodel) 1788 coin from the Russian Empire is interesting because it features a unique design that was never used on any other Russian coin. The obverse of the coin depicts a portrait of Empress Catherine II, while the reverse features a crowned eagle with outstretched wings, holding a scepter and an orb. This design was created by the Russian engraver, I.I. Novodel, and was intended to be used as a pattern for a new coinage system, but it was ultimately never adopted. As a result, the coin is highly sought after by collectors and is considered a rare and valuable piece of numismatic history.
