Interesting fact
The Pięciodukat koronny was a gold coin minted during the reign of Sigismund III Vasa in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth in the early 17th century. One interesting fact about this coin is that it was used as a means of payment for the Polish-Lithuanian army during the Swedish Deluge, a series of conflicts between the Commonwealth and Sweden that took place between 1655 and 1660. The coin's value was equivalent to five ducatons, which was a significant amount at the time, and it was used to pay soldiers and suppliers for their services and goods. Despite the coin's age, some examples have survived to this day and are highly sought after by collectors.
