Interesting fact

The Obol coin from Hungary, minted during the reign of Matthias Corvinus (1458-1460), was made of Billon, a metal alloy composed of silver and copper. Despite being made of a relatively inexpensive material, the coin was still considered valuable during its time and was widely used in trade and commerce. In fact, the Obol was the first coin to be introduced in Hungary, and it remained in circulation for over 300 years, which speaks to its enduring popularity and utility.
