Interesting fact

The obol coin of Kotys I (Type II; KO❦) was used as a form of currency in the Kingdom of Odryssa, which was a Thracian kingdom located in the region of modern-day Bulgaria. The coin features an image of a lion on one side and an inscription on the other side that reads "Kotys, son of Seutes" in ancient Greek. This coin was minted during the reign of Kotys I, who ruled the kingdom from 383 BC to 359 BC. Despite its small size, the coin was made of silver, which was a valuable and durable material at the time. The use of silver in coinage was a common practice among ancient civilizations, as it was seen as a symbol of wealth and power.
