Interesting fact
The Nomos coin from Metapontion (Lucania) was designed by the famous Greek artist and engraver, Kimon of Athens. Kimon was known for his exceptional skill in creating detailed and aesthetically pleasing designs, and his work on the Nomos coin is no exception. The coin features an image of the Greek goddess Hera on one side and a youthful male figure on the other, both of which are considered some of the finest examples of ancient Greek art.
