Interesting fact
The Nomos coin from Metapontion (Lucania) was minted during the reign of Alexander the Great and features an image of the goddess Athena on one side and a horseman on the other. This coin was an important form of currency during Alexander's conquests and was used to pay soldiers and merchants.
