Interesting fact

The Kopeck coin , which was issued during the reign of Peter the Great in 1702, was the first coin to feature the image of a Russian ruler. Prior to this, Russian coins had featured the image of the Russian coat of arms, but Peter the Great's reign marked a shift towards more personalized coinage. This coin, which features Peter the Great's portrait on one side and the Russian coat of arms on the other, was a significant departure from previous Russian coins and paved the way for future coins to feature the images of Russian rulers.
