Interesting fact
The Kopeck coin , which was issued during the reign of Peter I in 1702, was the first coin to feature the image of a Russian ruler. Prior to this, Russian coins had featured the image of the Russian coat of arms, but Peter I's reign marked a shift towards featuring the ruler's image on the currency. This was a significant change in Russian numismatics and marked a new era in the country's history.
