Comment
The standard of this long time dated gold issue of Pumiathon is unknown. The average weight is around 4,12 g, which is too low to be related to the persic Daric (8.35 g/8,40 g) or to the euboic-attic standard stater (8.60 g).
A gold Stater struck in Salamis by Pnytagoras at the same period seems to be based on the same standard than the one used for this hemistater, with a average weight of 8,28 g.
By default, these two gold issues could be linked to a possible reduced persic standard (one daric = 20 siglos) or to a local standard.
Dated issue : the year of reign is written in front of the stag's chest on the reverse.

Interesting fact
The Hemistater - Pumiathon coin from Kition (Cyprus) is interesting because it features a unique blend of ancient Greek and Phoenician influences in its design. The obverse side of the coin depicts the profile of a bearded man, possibly a king or a deity, wearing a laurel wreath, which is a common motif in ancient Greek coinage. The reverse side, on the other hand, shows a Phoenician-style galley ship, which was a symbol of the Phoenician's maritime prowess and trading activities. This blending of cultural influences reflects the rich history of Cyprus as a crossroads of civilizations in the ancient world.
