Interesting fact
The Hemidrachm coin from Patrai (Achaia) was minted during the reign of Octavian (later known as Augustus Caesar) in 31 BC. It features an image of the Roman goddess Roma on the obverse (front) side, and a depiction of a mythical creature called a "triton" on the reverse (back) side. The triton is a half-human, half-fish creature that was associated with the sea and was often depicted in ancient Greek art and literature. The inclusion of this mythical creature on the coin may have been meant to symbolize the city's connection to the sea and its maritime trade.
