Interesting fact
The Hemidrachm coin from Pherai (Thessaly) features a unique combination of symbols and imagery, including a depiction of the mythical creature, the Chimera, on one side, and the profile of a bearded man on the other. This coin was issued during the reign of King Pyttios, who ruled Pherai from 280 BC to 270 BC. Despite its age, the coin remains in relatively good condition, with many examples found in museums and private collections around the world.
