Imitation of Arabic legend in a square frame.

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about the Half-denga coin is that it features an imitation of an Arabic legend on one side, which was a common practice among Russian coins of the time. This imitation was done to make the coin look like it was minted by the Golden Horde, which was a powerful Mongol khanate that had conquered much of Eastern Europe and Russia in the 13th century. The use of Arabic script on the coin was likely meant to give the impression that it was issued by the Golden Horde, and therefore increase its legitimacy and value.
