Interesting fact
The Guldiner "Guldentaler" 1512 from City of Zürich was used as a means of payment in the 16th century and had a unique feature - it was the first coin to feature a portrait of a living person, the mayor of Zurich, Rudolf von Habsburg. This was a significant departure from the traditional coins that featured symbols or mythological figures, and it paved the way for the use of portraits on coins in the future.
