Interesting fact
The Grosz koronny was a coin used in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth during the reign of King Stefan Batory (1579-1582). It was made of silver and weighed 1.75 grams. What's interesting about this coin is that it was the first coin in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth to feature the image of a king on one side and the coat of arms of Poland and Lithuania on the other. This was a departure from previous coins that had featured religious symbols or other designs. The introduction of the king's image on the coin was seen as a way to promote the power and authority of the monarch and to solidify the unity between Poland and Lithuania.
