The Gold maravedi - Alfonso IX ND (1191-1194) from Kingdom of Leon (Spanish States) has a unique feature. It was used as a currency during the reign of Alfonso IX, King of Leon, in the late 12th century. It was made of gold and weighed 3.8 grams, with a diameter of 23 millimeters. The obverse side of the coin features an image of the king, while the reverse side has a cross with three pelicans.
