Interesting fact

The Follis coin was used during the reign of Emperor Michael IV (1034-1041) and features an image of Jesus Christ on one side and the emperor on the other. The coin was minted in Constantinople, which was the capital of the Byzantine Empire at the time. The use of copper for the coin was a common practice during this period, as it was a readily available and affordable metal. Despite its relatively low value, the Follis coin played an important role in the economy of the Byzantine Empire and was widely used for everyday transactions.
