Reverse

Ψ-like tamga within the circle of Khwarezmian letters

Comment

This is a "Γ12" type of Khwaresmian coins according to Vainberg (1977), which is attributed to the king Khusrau and an area of Kerdery (East of the Aral Sea nowadays).
The lettering on the reverse is considered to be read as "MR'Y MLK' hwsrw".

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about this coin is that it was issued during the reign of Khusrau II, who was the last great king of the Sassanian Empire, which was the last Persian Empire before the Arab conquest. Khusrau II was known for his military campaigns and his efforts to reform the government and the economy. This coin, which was issued in the Kerdery area, may have been used in trade and commerce during this time period.
