Interesting fact
One interesting fact about this coin is that it features a unique design element - the eight Ls (L's) on the obverse (front) side of the coin. This was a nod to the Latin phrase "Ludovicus XIV Dei Gratia" (Louis XIV, by the grace of God), which was a common motto used during the reign of Louis XIV. The use of the L's in this design was a way to incorporate the king's name and title into the coin's design, while also highlighting his divine right to rule.
