Interesting fact
The Dupondius coin features an interesting reverse design, which depicts a triumphal arch with a statue of Jupiter on top, surrounded by two trophies and two lictors. This design was meant to commemorate Augustus' victory over Mark Antony and Cleopatra at the Battle of Actium in 31 BC, which marked the end of the Roman Republic and the beginning of the Roman Empire under Augustus' rule.
