Though called "Ongaro" for its presumed resemblance to the Hungarian ducat, the coin is instead an imitation of a ducat of the Dutch Republic (see link).

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about the Ducat "Ongaro" - Francesco I d'Este (Tablet type) 1649 coin is that it features a unique design element - a small shield with the coat of arms of the House of Este, the ruling family of the Duchy of Modena and Reggio, surrounded by a wreath. This shield is placed above the main image of the coin, which depicts the bust of Francesco I d'Este, the Duke of Modena and Reggio from 1629 to 1658. This design element was not commonly used in coins of that time, making it a distinctive feature of this particular coin.
