Comment
There is some debate as to the exact period when this ducat was struck. Day et al (MEC 12) point out that Louis calls himself the 27th doge on this coin, but there is also a very rare ducat with Louis as 28th doge. Hence, Day says this coin was probably struck between July 1461 and June 1462 when Louis' reign as the 28th doge began.
