Interesting fact
One interesting fact about this coin is that it features an image of the Sasanian king, Valkash (also known as Valax), on one side, and a fire altar on the other. The fire altar was an important symbol in Zoroastrianism, the dominant religion of the Sasanian Empire, and it represents the king's role as a protector of the faith. The coin's design reflects the close relationship between the Sasanian monarchy and the Zoroastrian clergy during this period.
