Interesting fact
One interesting fact about this coin is that it features an image of the Umayyad Caliph 'Umar b. 'Ubayd Allah, who ruled from 684 to 692 CE, on one side, and an image of the Sasanian king, Yazdgard III, on the other side. This coin is a rare example of a coin that was issued during the early Islamic period that still bears the imagery of the pre-Islamic Sasanian Empire.
