Interesting fact
The Amyntas Drachm was the first coin to feature the image of a Greek king, which was a departure from the traditional depiction of gods and goddesses on Greek coins. This coin features a portrait of King Amyntas, wearing a crown and a cloak, on the obverse side, while the reverse side shows a seated Zeus holding a scepter and an eagle. This design was a nod to both the Greek and Persian influences on the kingdom of Baktria, and it marked a significant shift in the artistic style of Greek coinage.
