Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the Douzain coin is that it was minted during a time of economic turmoil in the Papal States. The debased silver used in its production was a result of the Papacy's attempt to address the financial crisis by reducing the silver content of their coins. Despite this, the Douzain coin remained a widely used and trusted form of currency in the region.
