Interesting fact
The Double Tournois coin from France, minted between 1611 and 1616 during the reign of Louis XIII, has an interesting feature. Despite being made of copper, it was designed with a unique "powdered wig" effect on the obverse (front) side, which gives the impression of a textured, wavy surface. This distinctive feature was achieved through a special minting process that created a rough, irregular surface on the coin's die, resulting in a striking and recognizable design element that sets it apart from other coins of the time.
