Interesting fact
The Dirham coin , issued during the reign of Caliph Ibrahim (818-819 CE) of the Abbasid Caliphate, features an unusual design element - a small crescent moon and a five-pointed star on the obverse (front) side of the coin. This design was a departure from the traditional Islamic coinage design, which typically featured Arabic inscriptions and geometric patterns. The inclusion of the crescent moon and star symbolism may have been a nod to the Islamic belief in the importance of the moon and its association with the Islamic calendar.
