This type struck AH758-759 at the end of the first Juchid invasion of the collapsing Ilkhan empire, known only from the mint of Ardabil, Alagiz, and Maragha, all of the highest rarity, VF, RRR. Alagiz has been tentatively identified as having existed in Vayots Dzor province of Armenia, some 60-70 miles southeast of Yerevan.

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about this coin is that it was issued during the reign of Berdi Beg, who was the Khan of the Golden Horde from 1357 to 1358. The coin features the name "Alagiz" which is the Mongolian word for "silver". This suggests that the coin was made of silver, which was a valuable and sought-after metal during that time period. Additionally, the fact that it was a standard circulation coin indicates that it was widely used in trade and commerce within the Golden Horde, which was a powerful and influential empire in the 14th century.
