Interesting fact
The Dirham coin , issued during the reign of Al-Mu'tasim (833-842 CE) of the Abbasid Caliphate, features a unique design element - a small crescent moon and a five-pointed star on the obverse (front) side of the coin. This design was a departure from the traditional Islamic coinage design, which typically featured Arabic inscriptions and geometric patterns. The inclusion of the crescent moon and star symbolized the Islamic faith and the authority of the caliphate.
